Advocacy Victory in California

After months of advocacy from the osteopathic medical profession, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed into law SB 1050, which removes the two naturopaths from the Osteopathic Medical Board of California (OMBC).  A law passed last year in California combined the OMBC with the Naturopathic Medicine Committee. In response, the OPSC introduced legislation to remove the two naturopathic doctor positions from the OMBC and asked osteopathic family members to write to Governor Schwarzenegger to encourage him to sign the legislation into law and, thereby, preserve clear, accountable oversight of the osteopathic medical profession. Our efforts have paid off, and we are proud to report on this major victory for osteopathic physicians in the "Golden Gate State."  Thank you for your support!
